“Every man dies. Not every man really lives.”
William Wallace
“There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who moil for gold;
The Arctic trails have their secret tales
That would make your blood run cold;
The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was in the Narakay’s lair, north end of Great Bear
Where we buried our friend KC.”
When not running Lakair Lodge Kevin worked in mineral exploration spending much of his time traveling the world in the search for gold. Much of that time was spent in Canada’s Northland. Recognizing his love for the north on July 2016 we placed Kevin’s ashes on the Narakay Islands at the north end of Great Bear Lake. The ashes are in a small white urn beneath a scraggy spruce tree that sits on the edge of a crystal-clear pond guarded by a red throated loon. You’ll find Kevin resting peacefully at N 66 42″ 418′ – W 119 42″ 928′. If by chance you do visit bring back a picture of the urn and Lakair will provide accommodation for you and your guest free for a weekend.
Kevin passed away on April 4, 2015. His memory lives on at Lakair Lodge.
